Pattern: BWOF 9/2007 #101
Description: With a plunging neckline, feminine tie-collar. This figure-hugging blouse is full of class.
Sizing: 36 to 46, I made a 38
Instructions: Pretty good instructions for BWOF but this is basic t-shirt construction. The only exception is the tie. The neckline is clipped between the front markings, this is only a bit on each side of center front. This small area is turned to the wrong side and topstitched down. The finished part is where the tie is knotted. I thought this was the only tricky part.
Likes/Dislikes: I liked the look, a dressier shirt but still very comfy fabric!
Changes: I added 2” to the neckline, I did not want a plunging neckline. I also added length. My top wasn’t figure hugging to start with, I did take in the side seams to make it more fitted. I really was pleased with this as I can make this top from a woven. The directions instruct you to set the sleeves in the round but since this was a knit, I did flat construction.
Fabric: Rayon jersey from Joann’s. This fabric feels incredible but this color is so see-through. I will have to wear a jacket, cardigan or sweater over my top at all times!!
Conclusion: Cute top, I will probably make it again.
Great looking top. I like the bottom picture with the red jacket best.
ReplyDeleteYet another top I have on my to do list. We really do have the same tastes. I will also raise the neckline. I like the red combo.
ReplyDeletePretty top! I like both combinations but the red best, especially in front of the tree.
ReplyDeleteI like all three looks! Couldn't you wear it (by itself) with a camisole under it?
ReplyDeleteThanks or showing all the different waysit can be worn. I like all of them personally.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great layering piece for winter. Very stylish and dressy but still comfy. Love that!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great layering piece, but don't forget about the cami underneath if you don't want a jacket!
ReplyDeleteFabulous looking top! I really like it layered with the other pieces! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI like the black best but second, or is it third, the idea of wearing a cami underneath.
ReplyDeleteSaw your review at PR. Just dropped in to read your blog and wanted to comment again on this really nice looking top. I like the look of it.
ReplyDeleteGreat looking top! I love the red combo the best, too!
ReplyDeleteAll the combinations are pretty! I like the red one for Christmas. Black one is very classy! But then, you are a classy lady!
ReplyDeleteThe top is so versatile that you could wear it many different ways. The red is perfect for the holidays.
