Well, the last few hours of 2008, can you believe it? I am getting the house ready for a few friends for the evening and then tomorrow it will be daughter #2's 19th birthday!
I have been thinking about sewing goals for this year.
- I don't have much of a stash but I need to sew from it first. With a daughter #1's wedding coming up and daughter #2's college tuition, this is a nice resource. Plus, I have only worked 2 days in the last 2 weeks, things are SLOW at work.
- When I do buy fabric, thinks solids or calm prints. My oldest daughter has the most wonderful wardrobe, and I was trying to figure out why that is. Well, she rarely buys a printed top, she goes for solid sweaters and tops. With this in mind, she can dress them up or down. You readers are probably in shock with this one, most of my knit tops are prints.
- Sew more for me, things have been hectic here and I haven't been able to get to my sewing room. I see 2009 as calmer so hopefully more sewing time.
- Find some TNT patterns other than Simplicity 4076, just patterns you can go to and have success.
- Put more time toward the podcast - ideas and interviews for new episodes.
In closing, thanks all the wonderful comments on my blog and for taking the time to read it. I am blessed to have this sewing community and feel fortunate to be part of it.
Happy New Year to all
Ohhhh TNT patterns...yes that's a good goal!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Yeah, me too on the printed tops. Solids are more elegant, right?
ReplyDeleteI need to sew more solid tops, too. but I see so many prints I like.
ReplyDeleteI love your podcasts! I'm glad you have a goal that involves them.
Happy New Year, Lori!!!

ReplyDeleteHappy new year to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely yes to most podcasts, I need stuff to listen to while I sew! I really do enjoy listening to each on Lori and appreciate the time and effort you put into them. Thank you! :-)
ReplyDeleteITA about the solids. I am really trying to work on a solid wardrobe. I have many prints and that is the type of fabric I'm attracted to buying, but have been veering away because I have a bunch of pieces that don't go with each other. While looking at miscellaneous catalogs I have also noticed everything is solids, I guess because they mix and match so well.
I also agree on finding more TNT patterns (something I'm working on) and also sewing more for me. I do sew lots of my children, but they collectively got more things than I did over the past year (even gift sewing placed higher on my sewing list than sewing for me, something is wrong, huh?).
Happy New Year (and sorry for writing a novel).
