Now the losers of 2008
Simplicity 2892, love it on the dressform, can't move my arms when I am wearing it. The sleeves are gathered and lined with the fabric. I believe I constructed it incorrectly. Good news I made the sleeveless version and love it.
This Christine Jonson tie back top. I just can't get past how the ties wrap right under the boobs!
Simplicity Project Runway jacket, it looks like I am wearing something of the twins!
Finally, the winners in the purse category, since I do alot of that type of sewing.
Amy Butler's Weekender bag and Sophia bag
There were a couple of other losers but it is late and I think I will focus on the positive.
My resolution (I posted it on a sewing email list) was to enjoy the sewing process more and not rush through projects. I do believe this was achieved. I really took my time on my garments (for the most part) and enjoyed creating garments.
Starting my day here and seeing your great achievements. I like all of them, and the jackets especially. And your bags inspire me to keep thinking I'll try them next year.
ReplyDeleteYou've got an impressive group of winners. I think the bags are my favorites! I've made many tote bags, but nothing as stylish as your bags.
ReplyDeleteLove your winners!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your winners and losers this year. I love, love those weekender and sophia bags, too. They are so chic. One of these days I would like to make them.
ReplyDeleteI love your jackets and I know how great that BWOF white poet's blouse looks on you in person. Love your collage-making skills.
ReplyDeleteYour winners are truly winners. Super job, you have been very productive this year!
ReplyDeleteAs far as your losers.. I think the jacket pattern was nominated for Best Pattern over on Pattern Review?... I did not vote for it- for precisely the reason you stated ;)
It's always interesting to see what the individual sewist thinks are the best of their creations! Thanks so much for sharing your best of 2008 review with us! Personally, I would kill for your handbags - they are FANTASTIC!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have made some lovely things this year. Those bags and your jackets are especially nice.
ReplyDelete2008 was a great year for you sewing wise!! I bet 2009 will be even better!
