I am really into those draped necklines right now and made McCall's 6282 again. Click these links for the first blogpost and first pattern review
I used some fabric from Fabric Mart and cut out the dress length. I had it all constructed and was trying it on for hemming, looked in the mirror and it was just too overwhelming with all that print. Easy fix, cut it off for tunic length.
Here is the shorter (and better) version
Tunic length is perfect for your fabric. Your top looks great with the jeans!
ReplyDeleteYou make the best tops and this is another great one!
ReplyDeleteYou know that I come here for TOP inspiration lots of times. That tunic is so SWEET! I am in desperate need of tunics to wear with leggings, but can't make myself stop sewing dresses right now.
ReplyDeleteLovely top and M6282 has become my favorite top pattern.
ReplyDeleteThat's very pretty, and colorful. Sometimes, a little goes a long way. I'm sure you made the right choice, shortening the dress into a top.
ReplyDeleteThat is drop dead gorgeous fabric. It looks great as a tunic. I just decided to purchase this pattern, like you I am into the drapey neck look but like the options with this particular pattern for the neckline. It should arrive next week.
ReplyDeleteAnother winner! I love the cowl necks also. I wasn't thrilled with my first version of the top from this pattern, but it was my fabric choice. Works very well in this fabric as a tunic.
ReplyDeleteAwesome top! i really love the fabtic, Lori.
ReplyDeleteI love it! it is a fun print!
ReplyDeleteI love the print. It works beautifully with the cowl neckline. Really, really cute!
ReplyDeleteThis is a winner. Love the print and the style could work with casual or dressed up options.
