best for your body and your comfort level. You can go with a legging, a skinny pant, straight leg, bootcut or flare.

Good luck. Please let me know what you find and what pattern you are using.
I'm surprised you didn't mention Syle Arc pants patterns in your list.
ReplyDeleteYou. are. an. enabler! Suddenly, I feel like it would be really sensible to buy some more fabric and new patterns! My black pants are looking a little faded...
ReplyDeleteI've seen ponte knit pants in RTW I just didn't realize how hot they were at all price points. I guess that means I should make me a pair for work and not for just working out!?! Thanks for highlighting not only so many pattern choices but also all of the different fabric spots!
ReplyDeleteI've always been interested in sewing the sewing the wardrobe plan. I love ponte knit and you've shown me a couple patterns I overlooked. Time to shop and get some sewing done. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI have a pair of black ponte pants coming up too. I bought my ponte from Marcy Tilton and am looking forward to adding these to my wardrobe, but I am still in the decision process regarding which pattern to use.
ReplyDeleteI just happen to be wearing some RTW black ponte knit pants today. I looked EVERYWHERE to find a well fitting pair at an acceptable price. I was not going to participate in most of this sew along but dang, Lori, you've done so much research, I might have to! I have yet to make a successful pair of pant, which is sort of a drawback to being able to keep up with your sewing speed.
ReplyDeleteIt seems everywhere I turn I see Ponte pants and I love them! A word of caution about the Ponte from Hancock's fabric. I have used the charcoal gray and the navy. They both have a pilling issue, the gray much more than the navy. I don't use the dryer on them after the prewash.
ReplyDeleteWow! So many choices! With all the wonderful new fabrics and styles for knits, seems that "knit pants" are not a bad thing anymore.
ReplyDeleteI love Ponte pants. But they seem to pill eventually. I have purchased fabric from at least three different places - one big box, one small bricks-and-mortar place, and one online purchase. All of them eventually pilled even though I too never dry my pants, and only wash on cold inside-out.
ReplyDeleteSomehow I missed this post! I've found it now, though. I might have to go try on pants at the store to find out which style is best. Then I can pick a pattern.
ReplyDeleteThat ponte knit from FFC is GROSS. Do not purchase it! The description says it can be used for cheer leading outfits and that's completely true. Think sports uniforms. Just FYI. This is a fabulous idea!
ReplyDeleteOh, forgot to post the reason I know it's gross is because I ordered some months ago and promptly returned it. :)
