My plan is this sweater from the La Mia Boutique magazine, you can check out Melissa's post on her cardigan and use a cool button instead of the tie for my sweater. I have red sweter knit at home waiting for this garment.
Here is a link for these magazines
Let me know what your plans are for the Tie Waist sweater

Once again, this is not a complete list of all patterns, fabric and inspiration, just a gathering of ideas for the purpose of inspiration and fun for the sewalong!
I am enjoying following this sew-a-long. Great inspiration here.
ReplyDeleteThe Jailie & Style Arc get my vote. Being 55, I think that ruffles, etc. need to be applied with caution :) Like your pick a lot!
ReplyDeleteThe Jalie is so cute, and Jalie's patterns just fit so awesome.
ReplyDeleteI'm sticking with Burda though in the way of 1-2012-106. There's a good picture of the longer version (107) here: http://www.burdafashion.com/fr/107_Veste/1437260-1788643-1788645-1788659.html
I love how ethereal the ruffles look. The pattern is for a woven, but my fabric choices are a bit limited at the moment, so I went with a fluffy sweater knit. The ruffles won't have quite the same effect, but I think I'll still end up with a nice sweater. I have all but the edges and hems done, then on to attaching the ruffles. Lots of hand sewing, but it's been awhile since I've had a nice peaceful project like that.
Crazy about the Style Arc tie front cardi. But, I won't be spending the $15.00 for shipping, even though if you order any Style Arc pattern right now, through the end of Feb, you get the Abby Cardigan for free!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I am not participating in the sew-along, I enjoy reading your posts. Love the idea of using a casing to make ties... and looking forward to trying it on a few of my sweaters... Thanks.
