Meredith selected Simplicity 1651, View D back with the straight skirt.

It is a voille and very similar to my white/black from my last blouse.
I am underlining it with fuchsia batiste
The bodice is fitted and I just need to do some final adjustments. Then onto the skirt.
If you are going to make view D watch the straps, I had to move Meredith's around to cover the back bra strap.
Hopefully I will finish this weekend and it will be up on the Mood Sewing Network right after graduation.
Kaitlyn's dress you ask? She really didn't want me to make her a dress and was very happy with a white ones from Penney's.
That fabric is on my must have list! Great thought to underline in a bright color. I can't wait to see the finished dress!

ReplyDeleteWith that color combination, the dress will be fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to see this. I'm very interested in View D (but with the A-line skirt) so I really look forward to seeing how yours looks.
ReplyDeleteBusy mom these days! Happy mothers day and congrats to the girls.
ReplyDeleteHappy sewing Mom! My daughter wore some very colorful sandles with her white dress and white graduation robe she wanted to jazz it up a bit. LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful combination. My mother made my graduation dress out of white eyelet with a pale blue cotton. It was a princess style, slightly flared with a blue ribbon under the bustling, and a scooped neck line. Later on I made an eyelet skirt with apricot.
ReplyDeleteProud moments for you and your daughters. Mine was married this past January. Goes by so fast.
That's going to be really pretty, Lori. These are some special days.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be so pretty! Lucky Meredith! Congratulations to the girls, and to you! What a special day!
