First came this 1/2 yard of fabric, which Meredith intended to sew up for "S" before she went to college.
It is Sasparilla by Riley Blake
Well, time got away from Meredith and she said it was fine if I made it. I purchased McCall's 6016 during Joann's 70 cent sale.
I went with the medium size it is 18 to 21 pounds and he is just under 18.
A little standing view with help from one of my Aunts.
the pattern went together very quickly and I think the fit is spot on. I was a bit worried about that with this being a Big 4 pattern. Sometimes I feel like they run very big.
Here is a flat shot, if you follow me on Instagram you already have seen this shot.
Thanks so Meredith for selecting such cute fabric, it turned into a great shirt.
That is the cutest picture! He is such a handsome little man. Great choice of fabric also.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Donna. We sure do enjoy him.
DeleteThis is out-of-control cute (and so is your grandson)! I LOVE the fabric-- Meredith made a great choice! I made this pattern once before for a friend's baby, and I was impressed with how easy it was to put together. You've reminded me that I need to make one for my nephew!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. It is a great pattern, thinking about fabric for the pants. Yes, you need to make another one for your nephew! He would appreciate it.
DeleteHe is really growing! I love his little outfit:)
ReplyDeleteThanks, he is growing like a weed.
DeleteHe is getting so big! I have a eight month old and it's fun watching them grow! I don't see it as much though being around my little guy everyday. I have this pattern, but haven't had the time to sew it up yet. I hope I get to it before he's out of the sizes. Nice shirt!

ReplyDeleteThanks, Helen, on both!
DeleteOh my gosh, he is cute! And that shirt is adorable too. Looks like a great pattern: basic shorts and pants, AND a button up. Great choice, and gotta love that it was 70 cents!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lisa, it is a good pattern with a nice fit. I love the 70 cents.
Deletei was just crying for kids clothing help to carrie, now this... i think i ought to leave the little folks wear to peeps such as y'self. this is just incredible.
ReplyDeleteThank you, it is fun to make kids clothes again.
DeleteOh he is adorable! The shirt is so cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ann, he is a cutie.
DeleteThe charm comes from the boy, the fabric, the tag and - most of all- knowing that where he is now is so elusive. It's fun to watch them grow fast and change, and that we need to appreciate every second because in another minute they will be transformed.
ReplyDeleteI would think a lot of the pleasure of being a grandmother is knowing that the next minute with him, is even better than the happiness of seeing who he is right now. That was something I didn't know as a parent (we have just one child), but will know if I'm ever lucky enough to be a grandparent.
Thanks, as always, for sharing.
Thanks so much. It is a joy watching him grow.
DeleteOh my goodness! He and that whole outfit are just too cute!!! Too cute!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, we think he is a cutie.
