My Fourth Archer Shirt in Plaid Flannel

Oh, Archer Shirt, how I love thee, let me count the ways!  I count four to date
1. Polka Dot
2.  Linen
3.  Gray/red plaid
4. Blue plaid

I know I have a thing for plaid.  My latest Archer is from Mood Fabric's Blue Plaid Flannel, which is oh so soft.

I cut the pockets, back yoke, cuffs and front band on the bias

Back:

I just love the plaid and the colors but most of all I like this shirt

Here is how I wore it today, trying to remember my rules from Ella and this pin inspired me

but I really like this shirt all on its own

Next up a gingham Archer!

What about you if you have made the Archer, how many times?

  1. Just being curious, what makes the Archer so different from other shirt patterns with collar stands and button fronts? I love plaid flannels, too! Yours looks so cozy.

    1. Thanks, Linda, I really don't know why it is so much better than another pattern. I think it is the fit, a bit boxy and more like the fit of a man's shirt. A longer length, too. It just goes together so nicely and once you get the sizing right for you, it is a just perfect.

  4. I have this pattern, printed it out and not made it. Held back by the hassle of taping it all together. Must say that your versions make me think that I have to bite the bullet soon. This version is awesome.

    1. I do love this pattern and once you get past the taping, it is wonderful. Do watch the fullness and the cuffs are huge.

This is so cute! I really need to set aside my other projects and make another one of these! I love this pattern, but I've only made it once! I wish I had a whole closet full of them!

    1. Thanks, I always think a button shirt this will take so long, but it really doesn't. So I am going to make another one quickly, it is such a rewarding pattern. I am trying to put my finger on why I like this pattern so much compared to other button shirt patterns, I just know I do!

  12. I wouldn't normally give the pattern a second look but I'm looking at it with interest after your rave reviews and beautiful shirts.

(Can't help myself for checking the photos for your yellow lab buddy. I think he is adorable. We just acquired a 1 1/2 yo yellow lab after he was dropped off. Amazingly we tracked down the owner but they don't want him back.)

    1. Thanks so much, it is a good pattern. My dog is a good dog, he is ready for spring and our long walks. I am ready for that, too. Enjoy your new dog.
