Remember back in this post how Meredith's love for quilting has been infectious? Well, between her, Kaitlyn's quilting and the quilt club I attend once a month, my quilting has been increasing. I like to quilt, more of my local friends quilt so it is wonderful to have that group of friends. My first love is garment sewing and now that my quilting is getting caught up, more garments will be back in my future.
About 8 months ago, the quilt club started a
Block of the Month (BOM) using this book
My local quilt shop had kits but I selected fabric. I made this one queen size for the guest room, replacing a quilt my mom had made which was just too small. With these pillow top mattresses, the older queen size quilts just are not big enough.
This quilt makes all the difference in the guest room, brightens it up and makes it just a bit more fun.
These pictures were taken on a very cloudy day but I was so anxious to get this on the bed, I just went for it.
The blocks are each set of geometric shapes and most went together quickly. I did do a block each month so the project was not overwhelming at all.
One thing I love about quilts with all the white background, the quilting just pops. Isn't this beautiful texture on the quilt?
This is another thing off my to-do list
How fun. It's so fresh and different. Love it.
