I promise it will be the last one for a while, I am a bit tired of sewing blouses and ready to move onto other garments.
I used this Mood Fabrics' white/aqua paisley stretch cotton which is a great price at $5.99/yard
The cotton has the perfect amount of stretch and a nice hand. You might have noticed flowers, but these are so small that you don't notice them unless you are right next to me.
I am not sure what number of Archer this is but I still love each and everyone of them. This one I did taper in the side seams a bit, making more of a waistline. I thought with the nice stretch of this fabric, it would be a good change.
I also decided to make more notes on my instruction sheet. For instance, the distance from the collar band to the buttonhole at the bust line.
Also, the distance between buttonholes, I went closer together on this one. I have been wearing more of these big necklaces and wanted the button placement to help show off these necklaces.
One last note, was the sleeve cuff and which side the placket folds in. I don't know why but I always have to look at a completed shirt for this.
At first on my photos, I just wasn't brave to go outside in the 20 degree weather, so I took some inside. I do have a new gadget in my hand, a remote control for the camera. Why have I not bought this before? It was $8 and makes picture taking so much easier and the pictures so much clearer.
Since it was a cold day and I was running late to work, pictures take time, right? I just grabbed a red cardigan for the day. I do like red and aqua together, especially with the holidays? You see that combination in decorating.
Plus, pictures in natural light are just so much better.
Now, I have to say, brrrr it is cold and I am finished with pictures!
Remember no more Archers for awhile, I just had a couple of beautiful sweater knits delivered to my door today. I have to finish a Christmas gift and then onto those sweater knits!
Another sewing success! Nice to have a closet full of go-to wardrobe staples...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Patty, it is so nice to have those go-to nice-fitting items.
DeleteOh my gosh! I love it. BTW, last Spring I bought the same fabric for the same blouse pattern -- now I have confirmation that it is fabulous. What a wonderful job you did!
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny you have the same fabric. Isn't it such nice fabric.
DeleteThis is another beautiful Archer. You look great wearing it - you have the fit down so well. It's no wonder you enjoy wearing all your Archers!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rose, it does fit well and I have long arms. I think that is why I like making my blouses.
DeleteThis is so cute! Queen of the Archers, indeed!
ReplyDeleteOh, I get to be Queen - love it - thanks so much!
DeleteAnother beautiful shirt! Really looks great with the red also.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Donna, I think it is the holiday season but I just love red and aqua together.
DeleteLove your fabric choice. Beautiful Archer.
ReplyDeleteThank you, it is nice fabric.
DeleteWhere did you find sweater knits? I am having trouble finding any. Of course it could be because I am looking for heavy ones. We have only had 5 feet of snow here already!
ReplyDeleteI found the sweater knits at Mood but got an email from Gorgeous Fabrics today and they have them on sale. 5 feet of snow and it is only December 4th - wow!
DeleteThat is a good price for that fabric! You wear button down shirts so well. Enjoy the sweater knits!
ReplyDeleteThanks, it is a great price.
DeleteLooks like this is quickly becoming your favorite shirt.
ReplyDeleteOh, you are so right but I am moving onto other patterns now. I am tired of making blouses, all those buttonholes!
DeleteI did notice the flowers. ;) Great shirt and love the red and aqua combination! And yes, a remote is so great for taking pictures.
ReplyDeleteYes, flowers, too funny isn't it, just after I swore off of flowers. I did check my stash, there is no more floral fabric.
DeleteI really love this color on you! It looks especially great with the red jacket. You always look so put together. :)
ReplyDeleteWe will be twins when I get my Archer made - I have the same fabric and it is lovely fabric! I like how you tapered the shirt, looks great with the necklace and the sweater.
