A few pattern details for you –
Finished Measurements are Bust – 44.5″ // Hip – 46.5″
The pattern is drafted for use with a serger meaning that all seam allowances are 3/8″
My measurements (for comparison) Bust – 32″ // Hip – 37″ // 5’6″ tall
You’ll need 1.5 yards of fabric 45 – 60″ wide
I didn't want it that oversized and I noticed in some pictures the neckline is quite large. Like this one
My solution? I drew a line 1/2" parallel from the center front and center back. This removed 1" from the front and from the back. I liked the look of this so much better. Fits in the bust a bit closer and the waist and hips are still oversized. It is just one of those shirts you can make your own.
My fabric is from Fabric Mart, I think their last big knit sale. This is a thin cotton knit but works just fine for this style.
I tend to make 3 or 4 items and photograph them all at once. I had just finished photographing my Vogue Dress and then the rain came again. So here is my pose just for the rain.
As you can tell by my grass and flowers we have had wonderful rains. Usually by now my grass is brown but no this year, the yard will look great for wedding day, August 1st!
Such a comfy cool top. Love your flowers.
ReplyDeleteIt is comfy, good for those days when I eat too much cake and/or ice cream! LOL. Thanks, the flowers this year are beautfiul.
DeleteDid someone say "free pattern"??? Thanks for sharing your adjustments and the link, I've downloaded it and look forward to stitching it up! Love your version (as always)!
ReplyDeleteYes, free, Kristine, that is such a good thing! Thanks so much.
DeleteThis is a nice, casual top. Thanks for the info on the free pattern.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rose, it is a good one.
DeleteI just made this up a little while ago as well. It's a magical little pattern. I took out an inch (2" total) out of the front and left the back as it was since I usually have to do a broad back adjustment. It turned out just fine. I really like the fit of yours. I can't wait to try a non-stretch version of this top too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the idea of more in the front and no adjustment in the back. It is sure quick to sew, sometimes you need that quick sew.
DeleteCan't go wrong with a great striped T. Wedding day is sneaking up on you! Hope you have great weather.
ReplyDeleteI seem to love the stripes, made 2 more after this one from the Kimono tee. The temperature on August 1st is 88 to 90 but by 5 pm, it will be okay and no rain, that is the important part.
DeleteLove your top! I generally remove 2" from front & back for this patter. Your garden looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Noelle, it is an easy adjustment, isn't it? I am loving my garden, usually by August it is looking terrible from lack of rain but this year we have been very blessed.
DeleteNice top Lori. I really need to get around to making that pattern up.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Faye, you will love it.
DeleteLike how you styled this stop with the statement necklace. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI do love my statement necklaces! LOL. Thanks so much.
DeleteI tried commenting on this top several times on my iPhone and iPad to no avail. Reading Carolyns current post about comments, made me more determined to get this to you.
ReplyDeleteThat said--- This is a top that has gotten under my radar. I like the changes you made, although, I can see a use for the oversized version as well. Thanks for all the wonderful post.
I have had trouble commenting on some posts using my Android. Thanks so much for trying so hard to comment, I appreciate your comments and effort.
DeleteHappy day tomorrow! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOh, thanks so much Donna.
DeleteThis looks so cute on you! I tried the Hemlock ages ago, but I used a terrible, terrible, super slinky knit and it was a disaster! I should give it another go using your size changes and with a better fabric! I love this on you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sonja, fabric makes all the difference doesn't it? I really like this one.
DeleteIt was wondering if I could use this write-up on my other website, I will link it back to your website though.Great Thanks. beer funny t shirts
