I told you on the Mississippi Avenue Top post that a dress was in the works. Well, the dress is done and ready. I love the feel of the dress, it is like the perfect, easy-to-wear summer dress.
I did make the longest length and then shortened it by 2-1/2 inches, that is the only change on this one.
The ties have been added to this version, the fabric was perfect for the ties.
Every time I type out M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I, I am singing the little song in my head. Anyone else?
The fabric is a great Style Maker's Rayon Challis, is is wonderful.
There isn't much more to say about the dress but it is quick and easy. A cute style and fun to wear.
Tip of the post....
When sewing small width items (skinny), like spaghetti straps, ties, etc. Don't watch the seam allowance side. Watch the left side, keeping the presser foot even with the left side of the fabric. This will really help keep these skinny items straight and even the entire length.
If your machine has the capability to move the needle left or right then do that. This will adjust where you are sewing but keeping the edge of the presser foot as a guide.
I really Iike this dress...and blue is definitely your color! Great tip, one I use often!
