A cute plaid skirt with trim would brighten up a winter day. This one is from JCrew
If you wanted a simple skirt, just bind the hem on this one from Sew DIY
Ot you could use McCall's 6654 and bind the front edges before construction and overlap the side seams and stitch.
I love this JCrew tiered crepe top for a layering piece.when the temps are cooler
a new coat is always needed for winter - this JCrew Boucle Cocoon
I know this doesn't have the zipper but I really like the shape
I know the wrap dress had been around for a long time but this is a different twist on it - two fabrics as seen at JCrew it looks like a skirt and blouse, right?
Use your favorite wrap dress for this one or here are a couple suggestions
or this new one from Butterick 6240, a different take on a wrap
One more skirt idea from JCrew with some zipper fun
Simplicity 1559, a bit of binding on the side front seam and a cute zipper
My pick out of these that I want to make.....maybe the skirt with the zipper or the layerd top. I am working on a coat, and doing lots of tailoring. I am really enjoying the process and learning so much.
I enjoy your Friday posts and appreciate the time they involve, however; I will say that one of my sewing sisters sewed McCalls 7125 and was quite unhappy with the pattern drafting. She has a good shape and rarely requires pattern alterations. Karen
