Here is another quilt to show on the blog today. I finished the top in June and it has been back from the quilter for a couple of months.
The pattern is Check Plus and I found it in the Quilty Magazine Nov-Dec 2014 Issue
The fabric is Cotton and Steel fat quarters. I bought this in August 2014 on a St Louis quilt shop Row by Row shopping spree. Meredith and myself were going to take a friend on this same adventure in August 2015, so I knew I wanted to get these fat quarters sewn up before I probably bought more!
Sorry for the dappled sunlight, I really didn't notice it until I started looking at the pictures.
The quilting pattern is loops, which I love. Some of you have asked, I send my quilts out to a long arm quilter in my same town. She does beautiful work and always is getting new designs. I am also amazed how she sees a quilt and its fabric to help suggest the perfect quilting design.
In the sewing room.... I have been cleaning and organizing, which took better than half a day. Oh, does it look and feel better. Books were donated to the library and fabric was designated for projects. Reduction of quilting fabric is my goal, and I am doing a good job of that goal. Quilts are being made and only fabric being bought is for quilt backs. I have about 5 quilts to make and then I will concentrate on some scrappy quilts to reduce my odds and ends.
I love this one! Thanks for telling about the quilter you send your tops to as well - she does do beautiful work. Is she in the St. Louis area?
