Time for a couple boy baby quilts. Last August, I found this cute fox fabric and knew it would be perfect for a baby boy. I went with my standard colorblock quilt (seen here and here)
Another thing about this pattern, it goes quickly so if you need a quick baby quilt, this is the one for you. Here is the pattern I purchased and later I found a free tutorial, so take your pick
The back of the quilt, which was leftover backing from this quilt I made for Erin. It always makes me so happy to use what I say is "free" fabric.
One more look at this quilt
I had fabric leftover and I couldn't let it go to waste, so I made my own design.
This one really shows off the fox fabric and I had to dig deep into my scraps to come up with enough fabric to finish this quilt. Many of my scraps have a floral more feminine feel!
A look at the quilting:
The back, using some yardage and the last bit of fox fabric.
Now here is what happens when you are taping your quilts to the porch rail and the tape gives way
These quilts were pieced the week of Christmas when I did the last three baby quilts. I have a few more baby quilts to put on the blog also. The last set are some I made after we lost my husband's brother. Baby quilts are such a happy project to make and after the loss, they were a good get back to sewing project for me.
Baby quilts are such a satisfying finish. Girl quilts are easy but it seems to be harder to find boy fabric since young mothers don't like traditional baby fabrics any longer. Thanks for the ideas.
