It didn't take me long to know I wanted another Blackwood Cardigan, this time in a stripe knit
This time I changed the pattern just a bit. I made my pocket bigger and all the pocket seams are included with other seams. This knit is a bit thin and I didn't want to fight the topstitching again. I made the pocket a bit bigger and it worked very nicely. The only downside is the pocket is a bit floppy at the top, due to the larger siae. The bottom of the pocket is enclosed in the band seam, side of pocket is front band on one side and other pocket side is side seam.
.
The fabric came from Style Maker Fabrics, I think is sold out but here are some
other options. I didn't have any fabric leftover, so my stripes are not matching the best but it is okay. The stripes in particular of at the front band, as the side seams and sleeve match pretty good.
Now to get some more knits, I want a few more but in the shorter length. I am hoping it stops raining around here soon, I need to get outside and my hair can't stand the humidity!
Love your cardigan. It is so on trend in the stripe. Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much.

ReplyDeletethanks!
DeleteLove your sweater! The length is perfect on you. I hadn't thought to make a cardigan from striped knit, but yours is so striking, I just might have to try it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, the stripe was in the stash and I thought I would give it a try, so happy I did.
