Surprise!!! Another cold shoulder top and this one is my favorite so far. The sleeves and the fabric make it number one.
McCall's 7510 is a pattern and it is one I missed when the new patterns came out. An email with a BMV sale and I went to look at McCall's site again. This time I put 7510 in my cart right away. The fabric, isn't it amazing? It is Mood Fabrics' Italian Twill, but not a twill like you think, this one has the most unbelievable hand.
Here is the description from Mood
An array of patterns from florals to polka dots to geometric designs zig-zag across an unbelievably soft Italian hand. Create the quintessential bohemian look with its effortless drape in cinched maxi dresses, blouses and tunics. Thin and lightweight, make it a spring/summer staple and get creative with the pattern play trend! Translucent, a lining may be desired.
I made view A with some changes
1. I did not line my top. Sorry the last thing I need in the summer is another layer!
2. I just cut self-fabric bias for the neckline and the cold shoulder sleeves.
3. I basted the back to see if I needed the keyhole opening and I did not.
Here is the sleeve
I took extra care to make sure the center front lined up just right with the "V" of the fabric design
I am so pleased with the look of the front of my shirt but I made a bit mistake on the back. I was carefully lining up the center back seam so I could match the pattern and did a pretty good job. Placing these back pieces aside, I was distracted for a bit . When I came back to cut out the rest of my shirt, a big oops! Yes, I picked up a back and cut out some bias. I was so mad at myself but the fabric was just so amazing, I just went on.
After I finished my shirt, I named it the Mullet shirt. The Mullet is the hair style, short in the front and long in the back. Or as it was sometimes was referred..... Business in the front
and then party in the back and my shirt is one crazy party in the back
I did not have enough fabric to match anything. I think the "busy" print helps a bit and I am not going to worry about it too much, sometimes those things happen and this time it did.
I love this new shirt and the design is amazing and trendy and fun
And I love this fabric so much, it is simply amazing. I might just go order more, so I can make something else from it!
If you have not tried this pattern, go buy it and make it! You will love it.
I want to make View B, those slimmer sleeves with the cuffs, wow!
I can see why this top is a favorite - it's fabulous!
