My very big Farm Girl Vintage quilt
This is a 2016 make and I am just now getting it on the blog. I am slowly working at getting all my quilts on the blog.
Our quilt club decided to use Lori Holt's Farm Girl Vintage Book for our club challenge quilt. The goal was to make at least 2 blocks a month and go for about 6-8 months. You could make more if you wanted, which I did. The book as 6" block and 12" block sizes, I went with the 12".
The fabric I used was a fat quarter bundle of Lori Holt fabric and lots of scraps from my collection.
I had so much fun making this quilt and it is always fun seeing other club members blocks. Everyone has their own favorite colors and patterns.
I made all the blocks and added the cow, which can be found on Fat Quarter Shop's website, with a few other extra blocks. The apple blocks came from Lori's book - Quilty Fun
My quilt is huge but I love it, scrappy goodness in sampler fun. I did not do the half square triangle border as in book cover. When I get to the end of a quilt, I just really want to get finished!☺
This one was hard to photograph, the girls had to stand on the porch so the big quilt wouldn't drag on the ground and it is just a bit dark but you get the idea of the quilt. The quilt pattern is AM Rodeo
Looks like a fun project, each block cuter than the last!
ReplyDeleteJust lovely! What a treasure!
ReplyDeleteI love your version. I'm sure it will be treasures for many generations!
ReplyDeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteI love it. Love your color choices. I made this one too. But my quilter put super thick batting in it. So I've never used. Texas doesn't need super warm quilts. Maybe we can use it a few days this winter.
ReplyDeleteThat is gorgeous. I usually sew garments and accessories, but honestly, you are inspiring me....The color choices are perfection.
ReplyDeleteI loved it!!! Vibrant, happy colors, beautiful design. You are very talented.
