I need some ruffles for winter and this pattern seemed just what I needed.
Just a sweatshirt for winter, using McCall's 7688 in view D but not the tunic/dress length, just the sweatshirt length. My fabric is the softest french terry from LA Finch Fabric - Dusty Pink French Terry
I went with a medium, which is nice for the sweatshirt look but if you want a closer fit, go down a size.
I don't know if you can tell, but on the ruffle, I did not hem it.
Here is the ruffle and the sleeve band. I would change the neckline for future makes - I feel it is too long and my neckline doesn't sit nicely.
This was a quick and easy project but with a fun twist and a bit trendy.
Now that the busy Christmas season is over, I am working on some more time intensive projects. I have the time to sew now so it is fun to work on these harder projects. Now when I don't have much time to sew, I just want to do any quick project.
I thought I'd commented on this last week, Lori, but my comment didn't publish! It was along the lines of "beautiful, cosy sweatshirt, lovely colour", but also I LOVE that your opening line for this post was "I need some ruffles for winter"! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, it is a great winter blues shirt!
