Third time for the Maritime Shirt and this one has a patchwork front with long sleeves.
This one came from this pin and I fell in love with colors and the idea of the patchwork
All the fabric came from Mood and most is a jersey knit, they cream is a french terry.
I measured the front pattern piece to determine how much length I would need but I did measure incorrectly the first time. I measured from center front and not the shoulders to bottom of the front! Oops! I did have to redo it.
Here are my previous two Maritime Shirts
This was a fun top to do and with my first patchwork mistake, I made the 10 month granddaughter a dress and I couldn't leave the 8 month old out either, so she has a striped dress. I did use the cream French Terry for the back on both dresses, just added a bit more warmth.
I did have more fabric left, so later in the week will be a Blackwood Cardigan, with lots of fabric piecing. I love this Blackwood Cardigan!
Very nice....and you are so creative using up every little bit! I need to try the Blackwood Cardigan, it's so popular :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Patty, it was fun to be creative and use most of all this fabric!
DeleteI love the patchwork front. It's a great top!

DeleteThe patchwork design is gorgeous! I love the colour combo.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Diane
DeleteWow! Way nicer than the inspiration pin shirt. This has made me think I might try and put some of my scraps together in a simple top - it's all about getting the colours and proportions right - which you have done perfectly.
ReplyDeleteThank you, have fun making your top.
