This Adrienne Blouse is popping up everywhere on Instagram and after seeing several, I knew I needed to try one.
The Adrienne Blouse is really easy and quick to sew, 3 pattern pieces.... the front and back is the same pattern, the sleeve and the neck band.
I used this fabulous knit fabric from Style Maker Fabrics' Abstract Floral Jersey and there is one piece left which is 2-5/8 yards. Hurry if you want it. When I purchased this fabric, I planned on a basic t-shirt and had only ordered 1 yard. I tend to jump in and start cutting but I could not get the other sleeve out of my yardage. I hurried and ordered another yard, whew, I could finish my top.
As stated on the Friday Pattern Company, the sleeves are very billowy especially with a drapey fabric like rayon jersey. My knit is very billowy and romantic. Speaking of the sleeves, I did shorten the elastic by one inch for the sleeves.
This is a close fitting top, I made a large and it fits great. I might do a medium at the hips next time, the top does flare out the last 3 inches quite a bit.
I love this top and think I will make at least two more for the summer, it is just fun and different but still wearing a comfy t-shirt!
One benefit of the front and back having the same pattern piece, you don't have to worry about a tag! Either way is fine and here is the back
Friday Pattern Company does recommend using bra elastic, as it is more durable
I am so happy I sewed this up, I was worried about the close fitting but I don't mind it! LOl
I will make this again, one for style, two for fun and three it is quick and easy!
Why haven't I seen this pattern before?! Great top Lori!! I feel like this is the kind of top that could be a TNT for me. Love your fabric choice as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Margo, it is a fun top and fast to sew. You can make a closet full!
