Reveal day for my #sewcialmashup and yes, I love it! And yes, mash-up of two patterns is not my normal sewing so this was a fun challenge for me, too.
Some things I knew I wanted with my mash-up.... use two fabrics for pattern mixing, a jumpsuit with a more substantial top so I would be comfortable in church and I wanted to use my favorite gingham! The entire jumpsuit is knit, the gingham is LA Finch Liverpool Gingham Navy Knit and the floral is a knit from Hobby Lobby.
The bodice is Butterick 6628 and the sleeves are the length of the Scout Tee I just love the length of that sleeve. I just placed the Scout Tee pattern piece on Butterick's 6628 sleeve and used that length with the cap and width of the 6628 sleeve. The pants are Butterick 6691
I measured the length top of the jumpsuit pattern, Butterick 6691
I used the idea of View B on this pattern but didn't want the gathers, after looking at the pattern pieces, the left front did not have the gathers. Yea, my two front pieces. I measured the length of the left front and lucky for me it was not all the way down with the wrap. It measured the same as the original piece, I added one inch, my usual alteration. I am long-waisted.
Then I measured this to the front, I needed to add some width.
The back, I drew in the center back seam and used it on the fold, I did not want a center back seam. I also measured the back to make sure it fit with to the pants measurement.
This worked really well and I love a good wrap
Now for the pants, I went with the length of View B and it was pockets. I followed the instructions for construction and added the bodice like the pattern stated
The jumpsuit is for wovens - crepe, silks, rayons, etc. I went with the knit and that was fine. The pattern does have elastic casing at the waist. This worked great for the weight of my knit pants.
Finish up the look, I needed a belt for my jumpsuit
Thanks to all who have participated in our challenge, the #sewcialmashup garments are amazing and so inspiring
I love your mashup and you look great in it.

ReplyDeleteMy wish right now is that God should continue to bless Dr Emu for his good works towards the life of those people who are heart broken. My name is Michael DeBruin and I am from the USA, it's been a while since my lover's attitude changed from being the caring type she has been to me, but later turned out not to be caring at all. But not long, I later discovered that my lover was having an affair with someone else. and also she told me she doesn't need me after all we pass through then a friend told me about a spell caster. that with the spell I will get back my woman, I took his cell number then called him and also what's-app him which he reply to me and I did some sacrifices to the spell man and he bought the items for me which he used for the sacrifices and later called me that before 48 hours my love will come back to me and now we are more in love with each other than ever. you can reach him on WhatsApp +2347012841542 or reach him via mail ; emutemple@gmail.com , my lover returned back and broke up with the other guy she was having a relationship with...
