Fabric + Flow Swimsuit Kits

A first for me, I made a swimsuit and I am posting it here!!!


Fabric + Flow reached out to me about sewing one of their amazing swimsuit kits and I said yes.  I had been thinking about making myself a swimsuit this year and what a great opportunity.  Thanks Fabric + Flow for gifting me this kit.  Here is a link for my specific kit.

What comes in the kit?  Well, here are the contents

• Total of 1 meter of swim fabric.  2 Fat Half Cuts ( 75cm x 100cm | 30" x 39") of a print + coordinate
• Swim lining - 1m
  
• 8mm rubber elastic - 2m
• 19mm rubber elastic - 1m
• Exclusive Sew In Label

I appreciate the 2 half cuts of fabric, a great way to get your pattern pieces cut and not too much extra.  

I would recommend checking your pattern requirements for the elastic and if you need more just order that yardage when ordering your kit.

I was so impressed with the quality of the swim fabric and the vibrant colors in my top fabric. Plus, it is so easy to sew your suit with everything included.

After much pattern debating and some very helpful comments on IG, I decided to go with Made for Mermaids Roxy.  It is a two piece with high cut bottoms and a full coverage top.  The instructions for this suit are very thorough and so helpful.  Details on how and where to stretch the elastic to the cups and how to insert those.

I used bra cups from an older swimsuit, they worked find but I wish I had ordered a pair.  Mine are white and nude would have been better with my fabric.  Next time I might make a size bigger top, but will we see how this one is in the water.
