Needle Sharp Subscription Boxes - Verano Top

I was Gifted this box from Needle Sharp and I had so much fun opening it and creating this beautiful top.

When Mary from Needle Sharp  reached out to ask if I would be interested, I said yes right away.  She sent me a link to see my choices and this fabric stopped me right away.  This Bold Meadow Rayon Lawn from Art Gallery just had me, the background color is so rich and the florals pop.  The pattern with this fabric is Christine Haynes' Verano, which is a dress or top.  The subscription box is for the top.  

The box came with the fabric, thread to match, the pattern, a new sewing machine needle, buttons interfacing and a cute label.  So handy to have everything you need right there in the box.

My fabric prewashed beautifully and after a press, I started to cut it out.  The Verano goes together quickly and I planned on making the shirt tail hem top option but I had quite a bit of this gorgeous fabric left, so I added a peplum.  The Verano has a gathered tier option, so I measured the pattern piece for the first tier and cut my front and back 30 inches long.

I went with a longer bodice, that option looks the best on me, I am so happy I added the peplum/ruffle., it adds to the top plus another feature for this fabric.   I did go with 5 buttons on the bodice and spaced them close together than the pattern.  I like no gaping and the look of odd number of buttons.

Right now it is too chilly to wear this top by itself but with my cardigans, it will be perfect until the days are warmer.
